Greetings! My name is Kara Schanz. What an honor it is to be your Fifth Grade Language Arts teacher! This is my 20th year teaching at Dundee Community Schools. I have experience teaching grades 3rd through 8th. Many of you may even have had me as your Fourth Grade Language Arts teacher. Don’t worry, I have plenty of challenging ideas in store for you this year! I live in Clinton with my husband (Aaron). We have five children Ryan (22), Josilyne (15), Nalani (14), Brady (9) and Sawyer (6).  We also have three dogs (Baloo, Charlie and Max). All of our children either attended, or attend Dundee Elementary School. My hobbies include reading, running, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my children.  When I am not working, I love to cheer on my children and my students while they enjoy their extra-curricular activities. I can’t wait for school to start so we can continue Reading and Writing together!
